RT @EmilyKostic: Don’t forget #CollegeJourn Chat is tomorrow at 8pm ET/5pm PT collegejourn.com. Be there.
Sad to see @LATimes sports writer Mike Penner died: http://bit.ly/7rRc3T. Came out as transsexual a few years ago. Thoughts w/his family.
RT @Poynter: Ex-Time Inc. editor James Gaines is 61 and “where I work [now — at FLYP —] even 40 is pretty old.” http://is.gd/567b4
Firstly, it wasnt my beat or my city. Secondly, I was driving. Thirdly, I dont believe in reporting about every car on fire.
Pick up truck engulfed in flames at Demaree and Highway 198 in Visalia. I did not twitpic it. On purpose.
Starbucks barista: “I have a venti ice water, decaf, no whip!”I
RT @LARobertMoran: @suzanneyada I don’t like it either. In this case you weren’t crash chasing. You happened upon the burning car. You s …
I do not like crash-chasing journalism. I understand it should be done to an extent. But it turns news into blood baths rather than context.
The car on fire I saw last night was a fatality. http://bit.ly/4U0Evh Let me ask you journos: Should I have taken the pic?
I know it sounds very nonjourno-ey of me. I was tempted to stop and take a photo just in case the Times-Delta needed it.But I couldnt do it.
.@codytoshiro said “officials in my city say more citizen journos have been taking photos of crash scenes.” Good or bad?
Updated background to my twitter profile. Now to finish transcribing, reporting & all the fun stuff I wasnt doing while making my background.
Whoa. Search the #140art hashtag. Don’t ask why, just do it.
Was upset when tix sold out on DataSF before I grabbed one. But @spotus has a blog w/EXCELLENT links: http://bit.ly/32cZ8d #cadata
Sweet. @cophotog gave me this link about the #hcr: http://bit.ly/1CZLZ9 (Last I saw the story, it was still outdated.)
NYT NEWS ALERT: Sweeping Health Care Overhaul Passes the House, 220-215. (From @nytimes. No story yet but keep your eyes peeled.)
Wow. @californiabeat says reports of a meteor have been coming in all over Cali. Anyone see it?
Meteor SIGHTING, I should clarify.
Going to be without my phone for the night. Its in the cell phone doctors office. :(
Never mind, spoke too soon. The cell phone will have to be completely replaced. My back button doesnt work, making this very hard to type.
BTW, go to Iguanas near 3rd and San Carlos for the best burritos ever. #jacc09
Looks like #jacc09 is here at SJSU again. I used to go to the state conference every year when I was at College of the Sequoias. Hi all!
RT @emilykostic: This week’s #CollegeJourn Topic: Should a news organization have a print edition? @codybrown maybe you’d like to join?
Around Sun. 8pmET/5pmPT for collegejourn.com? @anthonyjpesce @gonzomehum @journalistnate @BrianManzullo @LilyQ @adamplayford @JessicaKRoy
Gonna chat about role of print at uni. @anthonyjpesce @gonzomehum @journalistnate @BrianManzullo @LilyQ @adamplayford @JessicaKRoy
First rule of managing others: Never let them see you sweat. Oops.
http://twitpic.com/okyp9 - Print isnt dead, its just reshaped.
Officially out of energy. Going to take a nap. See you all when I wake up in 2015.
According to @fakeapstylebook, use “Jon Bon Jovi” on first reference, “K-Mart Bruce Springsteen” on following mentions.
Wow - only 4 more followers until 3000! Wonder who it will be…
Cool! @sfpublicpress will be writing for McSweeney’s newspaper, the Panorama. Preview: http://jr.ly/mrrz. And donate! http://ow.ly/x0Ss
I’ll just say “Computers are great! You can keep records on them, play games, help kids with their homework on them.” I’m going to be rich.
I want someone to pay me insane amounts of money as a consultant so I can tell them that computers are the future.
But that doesn’t mean there isn’t still value in a print pub today. I think there’s still a business cycle or two left w/campus print.
As @danielbachhuber said, “Back in the day when I built horse buggies by hand, 90% of our revenue came from walking uphill in the snow.”
I do believe there is still a niche market left for print, @codybrown. Mentioned it here: http://ow.ly/zlTd. But it won’t stay around long.
Handed in my plans if I were exec editor of @TheSpartanDaily. Compared to other candidates, I sound like a total Nazi. (I’m not, btw.)
Think I came off too strong when I wrote about ditching College Publisher&going web-first. Its intimidating to everyone, but must be done.

CoPress strikes again!
Reporting: hard. Reporting well: harder. Reporting well and before deadline: Herculean. Hats off to you miracle workers.
RT @sgarciaDev Fire in downtown San Jose. Right next to the freeway. http://yfrog.com/2tnpbj
Today=fail. As I feared. Will pick myself up tomorrow.
OH: “Who was that Karate Kid? Ralph Macchiato?” “That should be a Starbucks drink. Like a reg macchiato but only good in its 1st movie.”
RT @Roland_Hedley: Justfiguredoutwaytosavecharactersdon’tusespacesorpunctuationpossiblethisisannoyingbutshouldntbeproblem4serioustwitterati
Doing everything in my power to make this day not turn out to be a massive #fail. Wish me luck.
Bay Bridge is scheduled to reopen this morning, says a bazillion people on my Twitter feed.
Oh @flash_catalyst, I would ask to wed you if you only told me how to update the Photoshop file after importing! The church is booked…
Good luck to you #NaNoWriMo crazies. I did it in 2006 and loved it. And hated it. Then loved it again. But I was so glad I did it.
